St. Mary and St. Peter Catholic Academy has been at our present location for two years.  Conveniently located across the street from Robert Wood Johnson Hospital, our facility boasts on-site parking and an outdoor play space for our students at lunchtime.  Our three floor  brick building includes space for two science labs, a computer lab, a Spanish and art classroom, a fully automated library and  a Rehearsal / Music room for our band and choirs.  The complex also includes our full size gymnasium and cafeteria where a hot lunch is served everyday.

The Academy boasts sports teams in Basketball, cheerleading, and softball. this year the Athletic Committee is looking into adding a baseball Team.

The Academy educates students from Kindergarten through 8th grade. Over a five year period, our degreed and certified teachers engage in 100 hours of professional development to improve pedagogy  and meet the needs of our learners.  Providing the foundation of our students’ learning are the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards as well as the diocese of Metuchen Core Curriculum Content  Standards.

Our middle school, grades 6, 7 and 8, are departmentalized with the students changing classes and having multiple teachers.  This practice not only prepares the student for high school, but also provides an opportunity for  the students to develop positive relationships with multiple teachers to facilitate their learning.  Our teachers differentiate instruction to meet all learners at their level.  English Language Learners, Supplemental, and Compensatory  Education are provided through local, state and federal government programs. Our School Counselor is provided through the Middlesex County Regional Educational Commission and Rutgers University Intern Program.  Our Students participate in competitions run by the Diocese and many civil organizations.

The Academy has a full day Kindergarten, and Before and Aftercare for all students.  Township busing is available from North Brunswick and Somerset. Our on-line grade book, PowerSchool, provides parents with the opportunity to keep abreast of their students’ progress at  any time.  The teachers have their own homeroom pages and e-mail addresses available through our website to facilitate communication and parental involvement.
